Where are the jobs promised to us Veterans?

Nothing is ever promised to You. Get that through your head now. With that being said get cracking on your education. Use your GI Bill (Post 9-11) as a means to stay afloat until you land a job. And don't hesitate to be a Wal-Mart Stocker. If it pays the bills so be it. And invest your money into a good stock or IRA. You're going to need it for the long haul.

Sound advice. Like my momma always told me, "If you want something, you better get a job and earn it." Sadly, though, there are those that FEEL that everything should be handed to them........Soldiers and Civilians alike.

MSG (Join to see) unfortunately that statement you said it's so true. There is a stigma that since we are veterans and served this country, we will get everything handed over to us on a silver platter. There are organizations which try to help, but you need to put effort into it also! I am involved with an organization called Sponsor A Vet Life which will be hiring disabled veterans within our virtual reality immersion region.

PFC Joseph Levi - Here is how I see it. I busted my hump to get what I have. Granted, it isn't much (in the grand scheme of the world), but it's still mine and I earned it. I don't go out looking for things to be handed to me. Like military discounts at eateries. If offered, then coolness......but I don't go straight in demanding/expecting a military discount.

While there are lots of jobs out there, they are lower-paying and a little beneath the skill sets many currently possess in uniform.
Beware of the thought that possessing a Masters Degree will let you just walk into a job. I recently retired and despite having two Masters-level degrees it hasn't been a cake walk. Most people see those degrees as a "license to learn."
