Are there any special waivers for single soldiers to receive BAH for off post housing?

Yes if there are no barracks space, or for some reason mission would be compromised if you lived on post.

Barracks space and if you are taking care of one of your family members.

SPC (Join to see) Check your unit policy letters, there's one usually for single Soldiers being able to move off post if available. Bottom line is, your Command has to approve it first.
