Given the sad state of current world affairs, the deplorable state of our country, the seemingly lack luster government leadership and our foreign and domestic "policies" if one can call them that, where do you feel our government really ranks and why?

We have a weak pulse, but we are still in the fight. One thing we as a nation have to do, is get rid of those politicians that are there because its a family tradition. That is garbage. And I get it, they were voted into office by our countrymen in their districts.

But we need to stop picking the lesser of two evils and complaining about it afterwards. Its time we make those politicians hear us and follow our will. To quote the movie braveheart, "you think the people exist to provide you with possessions, I say you exist to provide the people with freedom". An example would be look at CO, they didn't like their elected officials stance on gun issues so they held a recall election, two of them if I remember correctly and a third resigned before she could be recalled. Its time we reminded those politicians that they obey the will of the people.

And on a more philosophical note, as to our fellow countrymen, even when it gets to looking grim, someone will always remember what makes us great and that is what will keep the American dream alive.

I love America, but lately people are coming down with the STUPID Syndrome. We need to revise some foreign policy as well as Domestic Policy. I'm no economist, but when I start noticing that the tags of my clothes say Made in "Some place not America" it makes me wonder, how many jobs could we have here in the States if businesses made it here. Would that not boost our economy? Also we should Tax business like hell for sending work out side the US.

We give aid to other countries yet our VA system fails to even get you an appointment. The Government declared a "shutdown" because politicians could not do their job, yet I had to go to work still without pay while they collected their 6 figure paychecks still? If you or I didn't do our job, someone gets hurt or even killed, and then we might not have a job after that. Talk about Leadership. Then we have politicians making knee jerk reactions wanting to ban every weapon they see because of a few idiots, leaving the law abiding citizen defenseless and empowering the criminal more. Your safety is your responsibility, not the Government's, that's why I carry a .45. The 2nd Amendment should be first and the First Amendment second.
The public doesn't need to know if the CIA water boards or not, or tap phones. Whatever stops a plot. Stop wasting taxpayers money holding illegals in prison, just deport them already. They get caught a second time, shoot 'em No one is going to miss them. Child molesters should be shot, rapists castrated. This would keep them from repeating crimes and save us money It costs approx. $40,000 a year to house inmates Laws should be imposed to make criminals think twice. The media needs to be governed a bit. I recently found out that if a women simply states "father unknown" she can collect welfare, yet the father is standing out there in the hallway with 4 other kids. Issues such as this need to be reviewed and fixed, instead of trying to impose mandatory health care. If there is not a significant change soon, States may start to think about recessing from the Union and we are going to see more civil unrest. Civil Liberty organizations should be outlawed. We need to stop trying to appease everyone. Our foreign Policy should be limited too what we agreed to at the Geneva Conventions..To prevent genocide. Now if the UN wasn't a bunch of pu!@#es, they should be the first group to take any military action before any of the Nations send their individual Armies anywhere. This would help with budget issues. Just some of my thoughts...

The perception that many people have is just not bolstered by facts. While I do agree that there have been missteps, and the sense of pride in our nation is horrible, we just avoided a financial DISASTER that everyone seems determined to believe fixed itself. But, we sat by and rode out 8 years of "W". Here is a guy that let 9/11 happen on HIS watch, sent tens of thousands of troops to the wrong place to catch the folks actually responsible for that tragedy, and allowed the technology age to slip through the fingers of what was once the most powerful nation in the world and a leader in innovation. As a result of a our new administration, we got the guy responsible for 9/11, along with Saddam Hussein, unemployment is at the lowest levels since October 2008 (see BLS), consumer confidence is up (see Gartner), and the stock market is riding high. Here's the reasons why: we live in a world now dominated by "bite sized news", and what I like to refer to as "one inch intellect". The one inch refers to the distance of the nose on ones face. How in world could we even THINK about regaining our place on the world stage when they HATED us when Bush left office. No one can deny that. Heck, the current President won a Noble Peace Prize JUST for getting elected. I would love for someone to tell me what President Obama did to win that. Now if that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does. But, back to the why...STEM. How in the world can we expect to innovate if we continue to ignore science, technology, engineering, and math!!?? These are the basic foundations of innovation along with the freedom to create, and hard work. If you think that voting every four years and forgetting about your Senators and Congressmen who are sticking it to you and running around unchecked and uncooperative is effective, we're all fooling ourselves. Vote for whomever you think is the best candidate for President but ALSO pay attention to the groups that get elected mid term that voted to CUT military benefits, to deny additional funding for the VA just 4 months ago then scream bloody murder when the covers got pulled back saying "he did it!!".
With all due respect, it's time for people to roll up their sleeves and take back the country in a way that's meaningful and permanent. Job training for people right here in the U.S.A. instead of HiB visas for folks who I can guarantee you are not exceptional, and trained a mere 4-5 months in a technology that a US citizen could learn in half the time. Oh and what about the FAKE foreign degrees? Oh, I bet there are some eyes as wide as saucers right now. That's right, FAKE degrees from India, China, and wherever else you can probably think. I bet you're thinking, "How the hell do you know?!!" I know because I worked for a Global Systems Integrator for 6 years selling multi-million dollar integration services and saw it ALL the time. NOBODY is checking. And that is why I took my 47 year old butt back to school to get on the technical side and pull back the curtain. But, are there any training programs here for SAP consultants, IBM developers, software engineers to put them right to work? Hell no!! As a matter of fact, the technology that I'm focusing on has free seminars that start at 4am PST/7am EST online. How in the world is that geared for a US citizen?? Use your GI Bill and get a degree to show that you can do the job. But, that other guy didn't have to do the same thing. Instead, what he did was sign his life away for 7 years or more after 4-6 months training on a work visa to send money back overseas to his family while American corporations pay $55-$150 per hour for him to do a contract job that he's receiving less than $20 per hour to do. I wish that I had just 2 minutes to speak to our nations leaders who really want to make a difference. But, instead we live in the "Kardashian Fantasy" where everyone is a scumbag rapper with a pretty face and large ass on their arm. Yeah, that's gonna really get us somewhere. First and foremost, turn that crap off or demand that they remove it from the air, or at minimum "protect YOUR house" and change the game. I watched a CEO of an Indian company respond to a well respected interviewer when asked "How do you get you kids to LOVE science and math?" His response was "They don't love it EITHER. We just make them do it." What a revolutionary idea! Make your kids do what's good for them. And it's NEVER been easier. You want cell phones, iPads, Kindle Fires, XBox, Playstation, and even cable televison?? Cool!! Me Too!! But, you don't get yours until you can learn how to fix one, or program one, or build one. That's right!! I said it!! You have to earn it by showing and proving in my household that you can be of some value to the world by owning one.
Don't get me wrong. Not every job is in technology but, that's what we're shipping in for some insane reason. So, let's start there. And Once we get some money rolling in from these things, THEN you can get your toys back. Until then, it's a hard knock life and I ain't Daddy Warbucks. We are now in a GLOBAL economy and we're playing the game like it's 1976, that's why.
