I always enjoyed Commanders Bowls, Sports for PT, and Best Section competitions. I have also noticed that when the company holds Organizational Days, that most of the younger soldiers are looking forward to getting off early rather than interacting with their leadership in a relaxed setting.

What has been effective in your commands?

It's as simple as tough, realistic training - going to the field to perfect our skills and fieldcraft. Shared hardships during a tough/challenging mission is sure to increase teamwork, reduce indiscipline and raise the morale of a unit.

I have never thought much into it but now that I have I completely agree. Some of my fondest memories are of the section and I sweating it out in the field for a month at a time. At the time it just seemed like hard work but we laughed and worked the day away supporting the commanders intent.
