Do you think that its fair that for example: while in the mountains of Afghanistan combat troops are getting blown up and fired at day and night, other soldiers sit and chill at Bagram or Kandahar study for college and they all get paid the same?

This is an issue older than any of our TIS. It's why the Army established the CIB in WWII. I've heard horror stories from early Vietnam veterans about support soldiers receiving jungle boots before Infantrymen. I personally think the Army's tooth-to-tail ratio has become absurd.

Despite this, I don't begrudge the support guys. There's no draft. They chose their course and I chose mine, and I'll wager I've had a lot more fun. At times they are more comfortable and enjoy more luxuries and different opportunities. That's fine with me. But here's my proviso; if you get to stay warmer and drier and take college, I expect STELLAR support. Sometimes I've received it. Case in point, our BN's parachute riggers ROCK! And they bust their butts. In short, when my job requires you to do your job, please don't tell me you'll get to it after your run to the Green Bean.

As for CPL Dom, the Corps insisted on me becoming an Air Traffic Controller. So I went to Mother Army instead!
Depending on the rank and time in service, they're not all getting paid the same.

Both set of soldiers are doing their job. My philosophy has always been nice to the support guys because they are the one that get your beans and bullets to the guys on the front line. While they may not be in danger as much as those on the front line they are doing their best to provide support for those who are.
