A gun, regardless of what flavor it is, is merely a tool. By itself it is an amoral piece of machinery that cannot take action independent of a user. If you want really want a target worthy of blame, you place it on the hand holding it. Only the wielder can decide if the actions of the gun are going to be for good or evil. Personally, I've decided that mine will be used to protect....

SP5 Christine Conley - your point? I wouldn't hand ANY of my personal property to my neighbors, iffy or otherwise. My point is that my guns will never kill anything other than paper or the occasional junk TV unless things go really sideways and I have to shoot in defense of myself or my loved ones.

Let's start by banning the TERM assault rifles.....since everyone everywhere wants to put that label on pretty much anything that fires rounds bigger than a rubber band.

SSG (Join to see) - Concur. Which is why M1 Garands and M1 Carbines often get a pass....because they don't "look" menacing....

TSgt William Meyer - I love the Mini-14 and you are right that it doesn't scare as many people.

Exactly! Put a wood stock on an AR-15 and they would think it is fine.

Now ever since 9/11 they have M4's and nobody seems to care. I wonder where all those mini 14's ended up.
