I ran across this article today about when gun control began. I had no idea it began in the 1800's and has continued into this century.

Most laws regarding licensing/permits originated with Democrats attempting to regulate the behavior of blacks. Marriage licenses to prevent blacks and whites marrying. Poll taxes and tests to prevent blacks from voting. Gun licensing to make sure blacks couldn't defend themselves. Basically, all licenses and permits are about government control and now extends to everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, etc. It's always about control with Democrats, isn't it?

From fear of slave revolts, to fear of Blacks freed by manumission, to the "Black codes", that forbade even a cane or a dog to former slaves, to the "Jim Crow" laws that targeted Blacks, and when Reconstruction would not tolerate that, finally the "gun control laws" that were supposed to apply to all, but were only enforced against Blacks --- it's clear evidence that "gun control" is "people control".
Those who are feared, a segment of the population or the entire population itself, must be disarmed if it is to be controlled.

Say it ain't so, SGT (Join to see)! It's Greek, means "come and take them", and was a widely used slogan in the Texas Revolution!

SGT (Join to see) - Aye. 'Twas Greek.
It was the response of King Leonidas of Sparta to the Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae, when told "Lay down your arms".

I had no idea either Joe. They did it the right way back then, without putting the fear of God in gun owners, that our weapons could be taken away by the government. Now that I read SSG Robert Webster post, I don't think it will happen in the U.S.
