When will I find out my gaining unit and what camp I will actually be on? From what I have been able to find, the on post housing is furnished? To what extent are they furnished and what personal belongings as far as house hold goods should I plan on packing? I plan on doing a command sponsored tour, what employment opportunities are there for my spouse.

After ALOT of digging between my ERB, ACT and looking through global accounts, I managed to get ahold of an SFC in ops where I thought I was going, he linked me up with my gaining BDE CSM. As opposed to where ACT is saying I am going (Camp Walker) the BDE CSM has slotted me for Camp Stanely in 61st Maintenance Company... My gaining BDE CSM went as far as linking me up with my BN CSM and 1SG. So I guess it is settled. I am supposed to be attending Support Operations Phase 2 prior to going to Korea and am trying to work my way into a battle staff school date also, in hopes that it might effect my assignment and let me go to a camp that is not dependent restricted so I can request command sponsorship and bring my family. I appreciate the response and help

SFC Black, I too am heading to 501st SBDE. I do not have pinpoint orders or a sponsor yet and will report Aug 12th. If you have any information you could pass on to me I would greatly appreciate it.

Just curious, how your in processing, and assignment went. I am on assignment for Camp Walker, 501 Sustaiment 12 April. I'm requesting to report 90 days early. I'm a 91X as well, just curious if you have any info on how to find out specific camps your going to, and anything else that would have been nice to know prior to leaving your previous assignment?

SSG Thomas, I appologize, I haven't been on here in a few months... Everything I thought I knew was backwards... SFC Ridenoure, I kinda doubt you are going to Walker, as far as I am tracking there is only one 91X slot and thats for the MP company and I am currently filling it. There is a chance you might in up in Stanely, thats where some CSM was trying to snag me to. Receiption, by far the worst I've dealt with. Yongsan is a waste of time. I "had" pin point orders taking me to Stanely, they told me get on the bus go to Humphreys and your unit will pick you up. The bus was literally rolling out of the parking lot, a SSG ran out jumped on the bus and called me by social and said "here are your new pinpoint orders" . So I got to Humphreys and had no clue what was going on, eventually linked up with my new BN and saw the CSM and the first thing he said was "yea I'm tracking you, why the hell aren't you on a bus to Daegu?" That was my first couple of days here, since I was led to believe I would be living in the barracks I didn't ship kitchen stuff or anything like that. Where I am currently seniors have to live off post, so I ended up buying all new kitchen and house hold items and a car. I am glad things worked out the way they did, but as for where you might be going, no clue... My BN was part of 501st but reflagged to 19th ESC the week i arrived. I hope I answered any questions and sorry for being so long winded. If you need anything let me know and I will attempt to assist.

As a senior NCO I would highly recommend making contact with the BN CSM where you would like to go or think you are going. Many times they can make moves when they know you are inbound. You must be on someone's gains roster but that doesn't mean that you don't have some ASI or SQI that could be of use somewhere.

It can't be that bad? As far as I know I am 99% likely going to Camp Stanely, possibly Camp Humphreys if my family comes...

Camp Stanley IS SMALL. you are allowed to have family there but, you will have better opportunity in Humphreys!
