I have nothing against political, religious, and personal opinion rants/threads/posts but, it is irritating having to weed through all the above mentioned issues to get to the military questions Service Members ask. I thought RP was a Social Media Site where we come together as a community to share and network our military knowledge, passing along what we know to the next generation of leaders.

We're keeping an eye on those threads. If they are legitimate questions that are meant to spur good conversation or to inform others, we'll leave them up. If not, and they're only meant to stir up trouble, we'll convert them (to an update) or suppress them (off the main board). If you see something out of line, let one of us admins know, and we'll take a look at it.

For comments within threads, that is a little tougher. If they're clearly out of line, we'll delete them. However, we won't kill a legitimate thread just because a few knuckleheads can't be professional on the boards. We'll have to handle those people individually. Just let us know if you see something awry. We definitely want RP to be a good experience.

MAJ Ken Landgren - If you're on a desktop or laptop, click on Home in the upper left, and then on Answers in the drop down.

LTC Kevin B. - Thanks. I don't want to be obstinate but I have two points I want to make. I had no clue "answers" was relegated to military topics, and I had no clue where to find the "answers" forum. This breaks one of the Principles of War, and that is Simplicity.

MAJ Ken Landgren - I understand. Personally, I think it's pretty simple. When someone clicks on Home (an obvious starting point), they only get three options (My Feed, Answers, and Command Post). Can't be much simpler, or more intuitive than that. I get your point though.

Of course we share many of the same interests and concerns with those who don't serve or haven't served. However, our point of view is often quite different and we generally interact with more respect than we might with some anonymous troll on the Internet.

CPT Jack Durish Totally agree, we do interact with considerably more respect than that afforded by the average troll. That is something I truly appreciate about this forum. We can all have a difference of opinion and it will be respected.

My complaint is 1) seeing the considerable number of posts covering the same topic, while not offering anything new to the conversations. I literally saw five of the same posts about protests (mind you, with the same link) on my threads this morning. And, 2) this being a forum to network, I don't see the value in posting some of the things on here that should be on a Facebook feed rather than RP.

SFC (Join to see) That is one opinion. But we do not live in a vacuum. Differences do occur. Think of it this way. Maybe we do get a lot of rehashing, but so what. New generations of people come in here each day, as well as the notions from the past, that rethink old notions. People are passionate, even though their opinions may not be correct. Just saying...

SFC (Join to see) - Good point. This is more of a fault of RP and how the software works rather than people using it like FB. For example if you post a link to RP, maybe RP could show you a pop up that says "x other members have shared this link too" and then we automatically add your comments to the ongoing discussion. Thats just an example and your point is a valid one.

I don't know that but with the constant attacks on FB, I just deactivated my account. No one hates like a liberal especially when they have just lost an election.

LTC Joseph Gross Yes, you are right. When we have young adults who think that water should be banned (Penn & Teller) then they lose all credibility.

SFC (Join to see) and LTC Joseph Gross IOT get around this, I am considering dropping my "follow" tag for most political topics. The same people keep posting a lot of nonsense in the Trump topic where I want to read actual conversations about him rather than kook comments. I'm also concerned for the people who are listed as compo 1,2,3 with some of their comments and I don't want to be around that.
SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4", can we drop a "follow" tag for certain topics?
