SSG Shavonde Chase First let me say, that the less Nukes there are the better our World as a whole would be...but Unfortunately there are some countries who would like to take over and rule the whole world...it's a shame that we, the United States of America and many other countries have to constantly worry about these hand full of countries...and therefore keep an Arsenal of Nukes on hand...and then there is the off chance, one in a trillion chance that an asteroid or something may head towards earth and a Nuke or two or three may help save the world...but with that being said....NO.....I'm going to go with a BIG NO...All of the Nuclear talks and agreements do not mean a thing, because we don't know what is really going on....Take IRAN for example....we or the UN/peace keepers of the world do not have the right to go in and do a surprise inspection...once upon a time we did...without any advance notice...now we have to give 30 days notice and another 30 before anyone will be let in to investigate....and by this time IRAN can hide all kinds of things.....how can we or the UN or anyone else even consider this a fair and just treaty for the rest of the world? it is not....It is a JOKE...a FARCE! It's utterly ridiculous. There must be better checks and balances put into place when there are Nuclear treaties made and agreed to.

Sgt Kelli Mays That was well written explanation of your position. I will have to totally agree because there is no counter argument and follow-up questions.

No, but they make the weak feel better. A treaty is as only as good as the signers word or the leader at the time.
A peaceful balance is a wish by dreamers.
The genie is out of the bottle.

I guess treaties are worthless if people don't follow the guidelines.

SSG Shavonde Chase - and how will we or others know if the treaties are being followed? It's the $60,000 question...with no real answer. We could just put our hand into Gods hands and hope and pray the few countries who are power hungry and countries who hate the US such as Iran and North Korea who VOW to kill every last American alive, will not seek out to do wo....but i am not inclined to only put my self into just Gods hands.
