Has anyone attended a professional conference on orders? I'm looking to find out the process.

I have sir. You need to put in the request through your department. The TDY funds are normally managed at the department level. Looking at your photo Im assuming your in a hospital. If you are in nursing they would be managed by the DON and you can also talk to the OIC/NCOIC for Department of Hospital Education/Staff Development.
If they have the funds available and its an approved conference should be no problem. Better chances if its centrally funded.

You are correct about the hospital, I'm in the reserves, so I'm not sure if the process will be different, I haven't had a chance to ask around my unit yet, we don't meet again till Jan.

I have. The process is the same as normal TDY. In DTS, in the drop down for "purpose of travel", there is an option for "Conference attendance".
