Unfortunately, you can't be a Squadron Commander forever. I'm moving out to the Pentagon next Spring and I'm looking for a good place to live. Have grade school age kids. I've heard that Fort Belvoir is a good place, but don't know about the commute from there. Thoughts?

I lived all over northern Va since i was 5.. no way around the traffic so thas not a factor in choosing an area..but right outside ft. belvoir is a nice little sub-city on the rise called kingstowne.. property value is going up with all the new construction..and its about 7 min from the metro starion in springfield

No matter where you are there is going to be traffic and a commute of some sort. I have several friends Army and Navy alike that live on or near Fort Belvoir, and they enjoy it. Hopefully your command will allow flexible work hours, many do so you can avoid the rush hours. My time at The Pentagon was one of the best tours I had.
