A friend of mine on Facebook called our President a "Yellow-bellied coward" for not detailing our strategy for defeating ISIS. Instead of getting into a pointless discussion with her about it, I thought I would bring it up here:

Does anyone think we should broadcast our strategy for defeating an enemy to the entire world (Including the enemy)?

Remember back in the good ole' days when Operation OVERLORD was about to begin and nobody got the orders until the day/night of? Would we have been successful had we gone on national... um... radio, and explained to Hitler that we would be invading France?

Whether the President has a strategy for combating ISIS or not, I really don't want him telling the world what it is. We told the Taliban and Iraq our plans for dealing with them, and we got stuck in a quagmire that has gone on for more than 13 years now.

Chief, I truly believe that is the problem these days, I was listening to a Whitehouse press report the other day and the reporters kept asking the speakers, what is the plan and how is the President going to defeat ISIS. I believe the orders should be give to soldiers executing the mission, let them execute the mission, and then let the speaker come back to the reporters, and tell "Bam", this is how we planned on defeating ISIS, after the job is done and not before. Again just my opinion.

If Obama does in deed have a strategy that doesn't entail what we've seen transpire over the last two years, I believe he needs to keep this under wraps. I agree that to give a strategy media time in essence is showing our cards. That is ludicrous. However, keeping the media informed about certain intel that would improve visibility about efforts being made is always a great idea. Otherwise, people say things like your friend said. At the same time, strategy against ISIS is far more than dropping bombs, shooting bad guys, and blocking roads. His international relations strategy with surrounding nations and their leaders boggles the mind. Smart IR is will heavily influence the world's chance of smashing ISIS, and as of this point, it's been a public crap shoot. And honestly, can one truly blame Obama? It would be like blaming Peanut for what Jeff Dunham made come out of his mouth.
