I'm on assignment to an ARSOF unit, and I've been getting conflicting information regarding the SRR. My Career Counselor sent me an email stating that I didn't meet the minimum SRR, but he couldn't tell me what the requirement was. AR 614-200 specifies 36 months remaining in service, but Branch is telling me 12 months. I haven't found a reg to support the latter. Any help is appreciated!

That's because there is conflicting information. AR 614-200 says 36 months, but AR 614-30 says 12 months to any CONUS assignment from a long tour area and 6 months from a short tour area.
Your MPD will go off of the 614-30 and cut your orders if you meet the SRR. If your Career Counselor is confused, they can contact the local MPD.

Running into this same issue. I know this was ancient. Where in AR 614 -30 can this be found? Thanks in advance.

SGT(P) (Join to see) I was quoting the wrong regulation. 614 - 30 covers tour lengths. AR 600-8-11 Reassignments has the SRR lengths. Bottom line though, if the special instructions in your orders State you owe 36 months oh, then that is the required srr. If your reassignment section does not tell you that you need to re-enlist in order to receive your orders, then you're fine.

SFC (Join to see) Yea I already have my orders. There are no special instructions stating that either.

Tomorrow I’ll meet up with the guys at MPD to confirm.

This rentention guy here is going off the rails.

Thanks for the insight.
