Most everyone in the Army know about the Specialist Mafia, but do many know about the League of Disgruntled Majors? I did not until I was deployed and rarely hear of it now. That may be due to being assigned at lower levels that have fewer Majors and most are in leadership positions. Did you know about this organization?

Last post was January 2008. Maybe majors in 2008 were a bit more disgruntled than majors in 2014, but that's hard to believe, given the change in circumstances from 2008 to 2014. IE, 6+ additional years of deployments; decrease in promotion rates for majors from more than 100% to LTC to around, what, 64% in this last round; OSBs; etc; etc; etc.
Perhaps The League of Disgruntled Majors from 2008 has transformed into The League of Very Happy Lieutenant Colonels (as statistics suggest almost all (if not all) majors from 2008 got promoted to LTC).

As an AMEDD NCO it's been my observation that the Army Nurse Corps, has a strong and active componet in The League of Disgruntled Majors...........

That officer(s) who created that blog site should really consider bringing it back full time. Some of those posts were classically hilarious.

LTC Bink Romanick - I've been a Major for a little under two years now. This is the first time I've heard "butter leaf". I think I'll drop that one on some peers soon. :-)

Never heard of it, sir. Reminds me of the WOPA (Warrant Officer Protection Association).

It's the unofficial "association" of warrants that always look out for and stand up for other warrants, no matter what, no matter where. And it's a myth, but people speak of it as though it really did exist. Probably much like the League of Disgruntled Majors. Here's a definition of WOPA:

I'm comvinced that Warrant Officers are the ones who control the strings of the E-4 Mafia...they take those skills, suppress them as NCOs then once in WO Course, the skills learned as an E-4 are polished and perfected to the chagrin of both NCOs and officers...

The Lance Corporal Underground...The Chief Senior Airmen Club...The E-4 Mafia...The WOPA...and now, the League of Disgruntled Majors...Can you imagine what would happen if ALL OF THEM combined their talents together?!?!?!?!!?
