Can anyone give me some insight to the tattoo policy for commissioning?

Just went through the Green to Gold program. I commissioned last May and both arms are sleeved. As long as your tattoos aren’t offensive you are fine. It is not a determining factor.

I believe it is still the same as "nothing visible while in dress uniform." Of course, I don't claim to be up on the latest AR 670-1 updates which should have the same standard for commissioning. That being said, you will still have to do a tattoo screening regardless of the current standard.
