My niece has been accepted to a 4 year university but can not afford it at this time so is going to go to a local community college for a 2 year degree while she works. Her major will be in education, specializing in elementary 1st and 2nd grades.
I'm curious if anyone knows of any benefits available to family members of us retired folk.
I asked a local 'Expert' but they didn't know of anything that might be of any help, but this group beingas diverse as it is may know of something else.

I know that my school offers academic scholarships to qualified students majoring in education. You may want to look into something similar at the schools that she may be looking at. Also, I know that VFW Post 1 has a "Patriots Pen" scholarship; look into potential scholarship opportunities offered by local veteran organizations. I don't know how it works passing on GI Bill benefits if you haven't used them, but that may be an option.
