http://nationalinterest.org/feature/chinas-military-about-go-global-11882

It seems the Army has outgrown its training ground and is about to branch out...any thoughts on that. It has the largest military in the world. Due to our ability to farm out so much of what America consumes, the standard of living has changed immensely for the Chinese....for the better, for the most part. It is the largest country in the world, do we need to worry?

Have you looked into their Silk Road Initiative? They have a plethora of countries pledging economic alliance as China promises to bring in tons of domestic jobs. China's aim is to build a super pipeline from east Europe through the Middle East ending right in the middle of China. China sits on tons of oil reserves, but there's a fun kid's game they are playing with the future of energy. It's called Last Man Standing. As the world rushes to turn their natural resources into hard cash, China sits back and appeases them by buying more. The more oil other countries extract, refine, and sell, the more valuable China's oil is also becoming.
Their ambitions are global. Not like micromanaging Hitler dictator, but their desired end state is definitely to instill a pattern of international dependence in all other countries. Honestly, they've learned well from the US.

We're playing the last man standing game with oil also. The US could have seen $2.50 a gallon a long time ago if we developed more of our oil in Texas, the Dakotas, Alaska, and offshore. But (and this kills me to say as a far right capitalist) it's not always about the immediate cash return. Sometimes you have to think a little deeper. The US would much rather use other people's oil than our own (even if does create domestic jobs). It's like eating your cake but still being able to sell it a later date when it's more valuable. lol

SSG(P) (Join to see) Not until they have a better Navy and more countries that will let them dock. Without Naval power, they're pretty limited in their scope.
