High Dollar Value Sheets for single Soldiers in the barracks

Apparently there are some changes within the system, DA 4986 is no longer in circulation. One of my Junior Soldiers resides in the barracks and he is required to have a high dollar value sheet in plain view within his room. However, the SSQ NCO does not have any for the Soldiers at all. Considering the fact that the form that was used back in the day is now obsolete and all Soldiers who reside in the barracks must have them up NLT 15 January.
It was recommended that my Soldier takes pictures of his high valued items long with the serial numbers of each item and to add a memorandum for record.. Is this a good idea for now until a "new" high dollar value item sheet becomes available? Or is there an updated one that is not on any website that is available?
I would like to know before I lose my head over something.

It's always a good idea to have a record of your high-value items, including pictures and serial numbers, whether the military requires it or not.
That said, I'm in the Air Force and I've never lived in the dorms...so I can't answer your question.

Good question, SGT Benjamin Dutill. I'm interested in knowing the answer also.
There's a form that we use in the 8th Army, but it seems that the regs for it are local to our division. I wonder if high dollar value sheets will no longer be administered service-wide, and will only to be administered within each unit.
