After being charged with DUI, what will happen in court if I tell them I'm joining the military?

I just recently talked to a recruiter about enlisting signed over my rights did my fingerprints but I got a will happen in court if I tell them I’m joining? I already talked to my recruiter she said said don’t stress when it’s finished I could continue dui and have a court date soon what will happen in court if I tell them I’m joining? Honestly, if I were your recruiter, I wouldn't take you. If you were busted for a DUI while active duty, you would have been charged by civilian law and the UCMJ. It's nothing to take lightly.

Iman Miles - That wasn't an accident, Iman. Getting hit by an asteroid is an accident. Catching a DUI is a wilful disregard for other people. You could have killed someone. Don't try to pass it off as a minor mistake, like you forgot to turn off the stove.

SSgt (Join to see) not trying to pass it off as minor I know it’s a very serious thing I’ve had family members die from that but I’m not some alcoholic nor was I drunk I learned from it it will never happen again my dads a officer I’m ashamed and I take all the consequences and understand if I don’t get in

What do you mean "signed over your rights?"
We can't predict what a random judge will or won't do. Every judge is different. I don't think your plan to join the military should have any bearing on a DUI charge in my opinion. I'm also surprised they would let you in with a DUI when they've been hammering down on those.
Also a DUI is not a "mistake." It's a choice. A mistake is forgetting to pick up your dry cleaning or making a typo. Choosing to drive while intoxicated is not a mistake - and yes it is very serious. That is how my uncle died two weeks after he graduated high school - and four of his friends with him. Some punk ass 16 year old drunk driving. I never met my uncle because of that kid's foolish choice. My mom lost a brother, my grandpa lost a son five months after losing his wife to cancer. So it's not a mistake.

Iman Miles - Seriously? I was just trying to help because I'd rather not see someone lose their kids but if you don't care then fine. I guess that is your problem. I sure hope you read all the paperwork before you signed it so you can get your kids back someday. Honestly it was not a good idea to sign over any custody or anything until you knew you were going to the military. I guess have fun with that legal nightmare. See what I get for trying to help someone.

Iman Miles - Now I have no idea what you're talking about - I thought you were talking about the custody thing asking why I kept commenting on that. That is what I really kept commenting on trying to make sure you didn't accidentally sign away the rights to your kids.

READ Kelly. Lack of in my day 73, some judges still have the option of joining or trial. These days they are likely to throw the book at him for enlisting. Nothing was said he was guilty, or is your Constitution different than mine?

I don't think anyone should have the option of jail or the military. The military shouldn't be used as a punishment or a way to rehabilitate people. I hear everyone cry and moan about how we are supposed to be killers but we have gay people and women and transgenders serving but yet people are fine to allow the social experiment of trying to rehabilitate a criminal? C'mon.

Damn Lady, Who appointed you my guardian? What you think of judges sending folks into the service is immaterial, because it was/has been done all the way up to the 70's, maybe from as early as the 1800's- that is history, our history. Do you not see the news where Vets are losing their homes after fighting with HOA's on flying the flag- Memorials that have stood to honor our dead being ordered taken down by judges? I was saying that the days of judges perhaps allowing slack SEEMS to be replaced by many that think we should not be allowed on the grass! I have 2 judges in my Legion Post- yet they themselves have problems with fellow judges over handling Vets. His own recruiter in the same area advised against playing a Military card- probably for the same reason. As for the Constitution- YOU ARE CONSIDERED INNOCENT TILL FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW!. Oh by the way- my Patriotism or definition is not in question- my family as been serving this country since the French and Indian War- I lost 3 cousins in SVN (68) my dad was WWII, and my son-law is retired and my grandson is serving his 2nd hitch in the Army- NOW please get off my cloud- Thank you for your service.
