Once you come up on the end of your Army contract, contact a Navy recruiter. You will be considered a prior service vet but as long as you still meet at ualifications and haven’t been in the Army for long you will fine. As a recruiter I am currently working with 2 guys who are prior Army trying to go Navy.

PO1 Edwards has the right of it. Allowances for prior service do change. At about a year to a year and a half from the end of your contract I'd reach out to the local Navy recruiter. Some Recruiting Commands have a designated person for prior service. Introduce yourself and let them know about your intentions. Keep in touch with them, and talk with them a bit more frequently as you get closer to your separation date. This way you will know if there is any changes. When I was recruiting from 09 to 12, it started out that we had a few active slots for prior service. The last one we got was for January of 11. Then prior service was for reserves only. Things have changed since. Keeping in touch with the recruiter will keep you from getting a surprise.

The recruiter I spoke with isn’t sure if I’d be considered as a Recruiting action of Inter-Service transfer. Do you know how to locate the IST Milper message? I’ve scoured the web

Question. I am Title 10 Air National Guard is there a way to transfer Title 10 Active duty Navy or is the only route through the Navy Reserve Force?

You can speak to a Navy recruiter regarding this by calling the nearest station. You could get a conditional release, (DD 368,) and if your CoC buys off and approves, then you can start the process of joining. All depends on how much time you have remaining on your current contract until your EAOS though.

Upon ETS, or maybe re-enlisting, maybe the only way.
