Can I request basic training if I'm going straight to AIT that does basic and AIT?

I am prior service and just hit my 3 years out today and am shipping out on the 7 to fort Leonard Wood for AIT since I'll basically be somewhere that does basic how hard is it to request it ? Or is it not even possible

No, likely not. It is a wasted expense and time for the military. Even though your reasoning is sound. Thank you for your service.

You'll be an AIT insert. I asked to attend Basic when I reentered, but they Don want you teaching the privates bad things lol.

I am going to a osut . So my AIT doesn't start until the 21 so would I still be able to get back in shape ? Also my recruiter didn't have me take a PT test before going to meps he just had me do some type of PT to see if I qualify for the job I picked out

Whether you can get in shape is up to you. Simply put, the Army isn't going to pay you to do nothing but PT for two months. Of course he didn't have you take a PT test, but I'm certain you're required to meet certain standards prior to arrival. My reentry recruiter just pencil whipped something saying I could meet the minimum PT requirements, and thankfully I could.

Do you know if I will be getting paid on the 15 since I am already in the system or am I going to have to wait the 30-45 days as a new recruit before I get paid ?

I have been officially out for 3 years and they only gave me a week to get ready . I feel like if they send me straight to AIT then I'm being set up for failure

Because it's easy money if you're married live in a BAH rich place like the San Fran area with separation stacked on. Had a prior service Marine choose to do so.
