Sometimes there are conversations that, while probably/possibly important, you have no interest in. Usually this isn't an issue, but sometimes they BLOW UP, either temporarily or for a long time, and fill your home page. I am requesting a feature to be able to hide a thread from the front page and "Updates" page, and it's replies when you've decided that you are not going to participate in it. The conversation should still show up in searches.

UPDATE: Per MAJ Yinon Weiss's post below, this is already a feature. Well played, RallyPoint.

In Answers, Hover over the discussion you have in mind, and in the bottom right corner you should see a "V" appear. Hover over that "V" and select "Hide this discussion from my Updates".

In Updates, hover over the same question and you should see a "V" appear to the right of the question/subject title.. Hover over the "V" and you should see the same option to hide it.

It will still appear in Answers but should not appear in Updates for you anymore. Let us know if it's not working for you. Thanks.

Yes I agree there are topics that beat the dead horse, revive the horse and beat to death again.
