I am in the process of going through an MEB my packet hot submitted and I am waiting on my pueblo. I was just wondering if my fellow soldiers out there could maybe give me some insight on what should happen and what could possibly happen with my career?

Thank you in advance,
SGT Mele

Well if will definitely take some time to get it finished. I went through one and was out in 8 months however it cold either be faster or slower then that. It all depends on your claim with the va and the military. don't try to fight and say you don't want it I have seen fellow soldiers get out with nothing because of it and it takes forever. I hope this helps if you have anymore questions about the meb process I would be glad to help.

ah, ok got it, never had one despite the fact I am a "disabled" veteran. You are asking how it woudl effect your career, so you wish to stay in? Probably not going to happen. As far as how it can effect the civilian profession, it is almost a bonus!

Well I know that when I did my commander interview they put consider for retention. I know that doesn't mean anything. I am hoping to stay in, but as you said that probably not going yo happen. I just heard there are going to be a lot of doctors appointments and a lot of hoops to jump through. I was trying to get an idea of everything I was going to have to go through.

Oh yes, it is a long process, plan to be on the run BUT what ever you do; Hand carry your files everywhere and make copies of EVERYTHING that is already in your file and everything they add and keep it for yourself, it will help you 20 years down the road should you need to file for an adjustment. 20 years seems like a long time but take it from a guy who ETSed over 20 years ago; time does fly!
I wish you luck, dont take any crap, fight for what you need, fight for what is right FOR YOU!
