Email or call your branch manager. Anyone could say that X embassy is available but branch can tell you for sure and assign you if needed.

thanks, yea I will contact branch but from past experiences a confirmation on a possible opening will go miles in a their eyes which equal higher probability of recieving the assignment.

I was a Marine Embassy Guard. I never met an Army Infantryman working at an Embassy. There were some passing through. But most Army personnel were officers or Intel type MOS's.
The Navy had a few enlisted personnel.

This was in the 90's. Since 2001, the Army maybe using Infantrymen and other MOS's at Embassies now.
BLUF: I don't know. Lol.

SSG Rose,

Follow the link below IRT Attache Duty.  After your packet is cleared then the Attache Manager will coordinate with your Branch Manager to release you into the program.
