I've contacted Tricare, the orthopedic office, and my CTMC, and the only person who tried to answer my question was a medic who told me that since the service (ACL replacement surgery) is available at my duty station, they won't allow me to go elsewhere for the surgery. My problem is, I've heard nothing but negative reviews of our orthopedic surgeon, and just recently heard that their office is under lawsuit currently due to botching the same surgery I'm supposed to have. I'm very concerned about having the procedure done here, but the only answer I've received is it's impossible for me to go elsewhere. Does anyone know of a way for me to get the surgery done in San Antonio instead?

SSG Kyle Wurtz Great idea, take care of yourself! Have you tried the Chaplin’s Office? Could you take leave to go to San Antonio? Congressman?

A xxxxx had to have his first ACL redone. A xxxxx underwent a cadaver transplant for an long neglected ACL, it failed and had to be redone.
