Looking at going through Branch and PCS to Fort Wainright. I need 3 ups and 3 downs about the place i would be leaving Fort Stewart. I was at Fort Drum before so i can get used to the cold again just how is it on the family? I understand travel is really expensive to and from

It depends on the type of travel, there are many varying methods that offer various military and government discounts, just have to do your research.
Family life and activities are aplenty and fun, again just have to research depending on what you want. The cold in Alaska is much different than Drum and upstate NY believe me, but you get acclimated me quite fast.
I have nothing good to say about Stewart other than 3ID being a great Division, the post and the surrounding area to me sucked to no end.
Wainright is beautiful country, you will enjoy it as well as your family, good luck and stay safe.
