Has anyone had experience with accompanied AIT orders at Fort Eustis? I’m 15D, my MEPS orders say 24 weeks 3 days. Any other 15D people bring their families during AIT?

Don't know about anyone else, but I never had time during AIT to spend with family if they had been there. It's only 24 weeks, have them sit tight and join you at your first duty station.

In order for family members to accompany you at an AIT location, the school must be 180 or more, anything less than that is unaccompanied...

Oh that’s good to know! Do you anything about how Accompanied orders work as far as bringing my family? I’ve been told I can bring them if it’s more than 20 weeks

PFC (Join to see) - I had a guy in my tech school class (that's USAF version of AIT) who moved his wife out during class. Our class was 21 weeks long and I think he may have seen her 7-8 times the whole time we were there. Not really worth it unless your family has absolutely no support at their current location because you will not have time to "be there" for them anyway. They will have no friends, no family in the area and you will, at most, only get to see them for a little while on the weekends. And it will also be a training distractor for you knowing that they are that close and you still can't see them on a regular basis.
