Can a rear detachment in the National Guard still be activated for state emergencies?

Hi everyone I’m new to the National Guard. My unit is currently deployed overseas and I’m stuck in a rear detachment. I’d like to know if I can still be activated by the state if there is an emergency even though we are rear detachment.

Yea, it's possible. If your Rear Detachment unit has the capabilities the State needs for that emergency...then get those bags packed.
