I want to become a 153a warrant officer but am wondering if I should even bother. I have an article 15 from a year and a half ago when I was a spc (currently Sgt). For drinking in uniform. Punishment was only summarized article 15, 10 days extra duty. I was wondering if I would even disclose this in my packet and if so would it ruin my chances. So far all I have done is pass the sift with a 49. Any guidance is appreciated thank you in advance.

You tell me, if you don put your packet your chances are 0. Don’t disqualify yourself, let the system do it!

A lot of your answer is you not only got promoted after the incident but were welcomed into the NCO corps. People make mistakes and that is the purpose of non-judicial punishment. You have disclosed on social media and I would not take a chance of non-disclosure in your packet for it only to be found here.

You need to submit a moral waiver. I would assume being alcohol related, no. But, I have see stranger things. Apply and ask for forgiveness.

I’ve seen pilots get picked up with DUIs or multiple alcohol related incidents. It’s really what you have to offer and what you’ve accomplished in the military. I’d say if you’re an average Joe that falls under the common demographic category.. chances are slim.

A morale waiver would only be required for anything listed in the OMPF, and summarized don’t get listed
