It's been around for many years. I'm not sure with the other branches but the Army even has a regulation and form to apply for the Chess Tournaments. DA Form 4878 "Army Chess Tournament Application" and AR 215-1, Chapter 8-16m2. In order to participate though, you have to be a member of the USCF and get a memorandum from your commander to participate. I wanted to participate many years ago but never took the time to actually do it. Would have been fun!!!Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 10 at 2014 7:34 PM2014-10-10T19:34:35-04:002014-10-10T19:34:35-04:00CPT Jacob Swartout272964<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Best of luck to you and win big!Response by CPT Jacob Swartout made Oct 10 at 2014 9:07 PM2014-10-10T21:07:42-04:002014-10-10T21:07:42-04:00SFC A.M. The West Point Cadets came out on top with the academies trophy so hooray for the Army as we came out on top as the services go. as for myself I did not fair well at all this year, their were some fantastic players this year from all of the Armed Forces, so I will regroup and try again next year, It will be held at Ft.
