i read just about every question, I answer some and others I decide that I have no opinion, or my opinion is 180 degrees out of phase with everyone else who is commenting.

My question is, has this forum become a Anti-Obama machine? In the last week I've read so many mean and nasty comments in regards to our CIC, some border on scary. Is RP becoming the Fox News of Social Media? If so, I'm done. I enjoy the questions about military life, but the politics are just too much...

Disrespect of a sitting President just kinda rankles me. I might not agree with his politics, but I absolutely respect the fact a majority voted him in. He's got two terms to do good or bugger it up, but some of you act like he's the anti-Christ and that's just a bit much for me. The comments are just hate filled and I for one am just hating it. How bout we stick to military stuff and leave politics to those idiots in Washington?

I agree with you that we should all be respectful of the office and the person of the president. But (you knew it was coming) that doesn't mean I can't point out his policy failures. I hope us Rallypointers can do both at the same time.

I don't think he is the anti-Christ; I think he is the anti-Constitution, and yes, I have enormous disdain for the policies he advances, the arguments he uses to justify/explain his policies, and the spin he puts on the results his policies engender. I don't have any strong opinions on him as a person, but I will say I have formed an opinion on his character based on the above policies/arguments/spin.

I agree with you as far as personal attacks and name-calling go - there is no need or utility to engage in that activity as far as I'm concerned and it does tend to turn me off from a particular thread. Seems to me there are more than enough substantive issues to debate / discuss without devolving into grade-school taunting of one another.

SGT John Wesley, kudos to you for speaking up and expressing an opinion that not many on here seem to share these days.

I merely keep scrolling and keep these opinions to myself.

Capt (Join to see) Sorry Erin. I am tired and that was meant to individuals who stir up strife based on the victimization card that gets old so fast. Either that or I am a grumpy almost old man.. 60 next year...lol

I agree there, SSG John Thornton. You know how it is - I'm pressed for time, typically, and try not to get caught up in threads filled with people looking to argue or crucify the dissenter.

No harm, no foul, SSgt (Join to see). I've had a tiring few days, so it's all good!

Agreed, PO2 William Allen Crowder.
