I am planning to go to a funeral next week at Arlington for a member of my church. He will be buried with full honors. I was planning on attending, and called Arlington to ask what uniform was normal. All the lady would say was that dress blues or dress whites was based on the season (without saying what the current season was; I'm assuming blues in April but will check with NOSC Washington to be sure). She wouldn't say if service dress or full dress was the appropriate uniform. It almost sounded like she didn't know the difference. She did say the honor guard would be in full dress. Has anyone been to a funeral in Arlington National Cemetery before? Were the non-official military members in service dress or full dress? (I'm rejecting the idea of going in khaki's.) The website also didn't have any specific guidance. (Or if it does, it is buried fairly well; pun intended.)

If you're part of the funeral party, Robert, it's Full-Dress. Otherwise, it's Service Dress.

Ended up wearing SDB's, and it was fine. Thanks.

You're welcome, Shipmate! I presented way too many flags for veterans at such ceremonies.

The funeral was 3 years ago, but thanks for the input. :)

Check with the PAO or the Casualty Assistance Office for the required uniform.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
