The clearance process has changed, well, at least for TS/SCI. The times of ever 5 year (now 6 year) re-investigations are over. While I am not currently in an S2 Section, I was unaware that I had been put in the CE program meaning I didn’t have to resubmit my investigation request. My S2 didn’t know either until 9 months after I submitted without my investigation opening. It does not show on JPAS as being enrolled. Only a search of DISS will show it.

SSG,
CE essentially allows you to not go through the whole reinvestigation process. As long as no “red flags” have popped up, you’re enrolled and if something pops up, you may get a Statement of Reasons or an RFI from the Central Ajudication Facility asking for clarification. CE has definitely helped with the backlog of clearance reinvestigations.
Please let me know if you have any specific questions!
