One of these veterans has been waiting for over 800 days on his records. Maybe this will wake some folks up and get some changes going on in the VA. I am also fairly sure these seven are not all of them.

.I wonder how many more frustrated veterans are out there and just go with the adage "that's the way the system is" and wait patiently, while in reality there is nothing going on with their case.
I just hope this helps them and the rest of the veterans in similar situations.

From the article:

"VA officials have reduced the first-time disability claim backlog from around 612,000 cases two years ago to about 177,000 cases now, but lawmakers and outside advocates have expressed concerns that those improvements may not be fixing underlying difficulties with the process."

What they don't tell you is they do this by denying 80% of the claims "just because," or without actually reading them.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS you know that is probably a very valid point. I still don't buy the from 612 to 177K either when you see 7 individuals form one area how many more missing records are out there. JMHO now someone is burning the books at the other end. Hell if they were that far backlogged to begin with over several years, how could they clear over 400K so quick without denying or fudging the numbers.

CSM Michael Lynch I don't claim to be an expert at much. But... I know an administrative "hornswaggle" when I see one.

It is just not possible to clear up that kind of backlog that quickly, "correctly." Working at 110% for a year (which is a hell of a lot closer to reasonable), wouldn't have got them in the same nation, let alone same ballpark.

I am not sure if a lawsuit is the definitive step in fixing the VA, but I am all for anything that spurs them into actually getting right with their purpose.

I am afraid they are going to go the way of Hillary's emails and Whitewater Records. And LTJG, deal with it.
