My daughter is interested in joining the AF and is having difficulty getting any recruiters to return phone calls or emails.

There might be an issue because the recruiters are overloaded. Recruiters in the Air Force never really have much of a challenge to hit their numbers. If you want an extremely fast response contact an Army recruiter. But I will suggest actually visiting a recruiter's office to get some face-to-face.

I initially tried to join the Air Force and was literally told “they’ve already hit their numbers and to wait until the beginning of the fiscal year. (Oct 1)” I didn’t really have time to wait around, so I contacted the Army. They got me the job I wanted (with a nice bonus $$$) and shipped me to BCT shortly after.
