How long is a Co Commander letter of recommendation good for when applying for an active duty Direct Commission?

How long is good for Co Commander Letter of Recommendation? I am applying for Direct Commision active duty. My previous Company commander wrote letter for me last year 09 Oct, 2019. The coming board date is oct 13, 2020. Do you think that letter is good for this coming board? The new commander is new to the company and he don’t know much about me. Thank you for your response.

Army rule of thumb for correspondence, one page unless there are specific areas that must be covered as specified in the message announcing the board. Did you check the MILPER/ALARACT?
BLUF, unless it is highly compelling edge of the seat stuff, one page letter in the format in AR25-50

I am sorry for the confusion sir but i was asking when does it expire? Is it good for more than 1 year?

1LT (Join to see) the letter is about a year old, but written by someone who knew you. I think the purpose of the letter would dictate current commander. I would try for both. Shows how determined you are to do this
