Can someone explain to me what the use/leave block is in the LES? I have gotten everything from that is leave you have earned from prior active time to the predicted amount of leave you will earn for the fiscal year?

You can carry 59 days into the next FY. I went out with 89 days leave, which I took.

When you have leave over 59 days you have use /lose leave. So that number over is lost forever on 1Oct. It prods you to use it. Your commander may also send you in leave to avoid losing it

I am national guard coming off title ten orders and am taking leave. They are going to get me leave for 26 days but i am confused if I should be really getting 33 or 33+26

At 30 days per annum, you really shouldn't have any confusion. How long were you on Title 10 oreders and how much leave did you take during that period ?

1LT (Join to see) you earn 2.5 days per month you are active, even while on leave. That use or lose number is what you would be at if you are on active duty until the end of the fiscal year.
To caveat that, leave earned during certain periods is special accrual leave and you can carry that over the normal use or lose days.

Leave accrued: number of days you have

Leave used: number of days you used recently for leave

Leave balance: number of days you have now

So the use/lose balance is for your use or lose days. I believe if you accrued over 60 days (for example you have a total of 75 days for use/lose), you have until the end of the fiscal year to either take however many leave days you need to until the use/lose balance returns 60 days or less, or else they will reset your balance. At that point you can either take a few days of Leave or you can sell them. If you don’t do either before the deadline/fiscal year ends, the Army resets the use/lose balance and you won’t have as many as you did if the days were over 60.
