You don’t. If you’re coming back in with no training you could pick a duty station. You’re not qualified for that location since you are not airborne qualified.

PFC (Join to see) sorry but that’s kind of a misleading site. If you look at it a bit closer you’ll see they are asking for Officers and NCOs. Every year USASOC has a slating board where E7 and above and Officers can apply for an assignment within USASOC. You are a Junior Enlisted Soldier. You cannot apply. Your branch manager must place you on assignment to wherever you go. If you go to Airborne school, it will be an Airborne location, probably Bragg and probably the 82nd. Later you can reenlist for one of the harder to get assignments like an SF group

When you get to Ft Bragg, the 1st time you get some time off at 19th Replecement Detachment, make your way over to 7th SFG(A) Group Detachment HQ and speak with the 1SG to determine if they have a billet and if they'd be willing to accept you. You will most likely be on a gains roster elsewhere on Bragg, but an airborne Soldier with initiative always caught my attention...

I agree with grabbing attention. But one, he’s not Airborne qualified, and two, we don’t even know if he’s on orders to Bragg. But your right, Soldiers that ask will often get what they ask for. If timing is right.

CSM Chuck Stafford - So you think you're old? I'm not saying SP5 Mark Atchison is old or anything, but I have it on good authority that the SP5IC was jumping out of airplanes when Moby-Dick was a minnow. (Hi Mark)
