I just finished the MEB last month & officially medically retired last week!
To get some good tips on how to help your understanding & increase your percentages; I recommend Combat Craig videos on YouTube. They greatly helped me out!

Update: I'm looking at the MED Board process, but haven't committed to a course of action.

there really isn't one. It's a case by case basis and the VA will look at your records to determine percentages. The whole process can seem, at times, quite arbitrary. I've seen soldiers get 20-30% for a condition/injury and then other soldiers get 50% for the same thing.
