Medically disqualified for worldwide service. (Who else has experienced this?)

Who else has been medically disqualified for world-wide service due to injuries, while in the military, and having a hard time readjusting to civilian life style. Even if it's been over 20 years.

As a Ground Safety person, I investigated a number of mishaps that resulted in members being released from the Air Force. I've also worked with several Department of the Air Force Civilians who were hired under the old veteran rehabilitation program. Hopefully, in your case your command did their diligence in informing you of the various options for retraining and rehabilitation.
I will say it's especially tragic when the member is both young and highly motivated. I remember a young Airman Basic fire fighter who was playing volleyball behind the fire station when a one in a million hit to his face severed an optic nerve. Instant irreparable loss of vision to one of his eyes, and instant ticket out of the Air Force. No one was at fault it was just a tragic accident.

My last year before I got out I had it in my file that I had to be in an area where electricity was available. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and sleep with a CPAP machine. It didn't preclude me from world-wide service and I never got a chance to "exercise" that clause.

I had SA all through OIF and did not know what was wrong with me...It was diagnosed later at WRAMC...I have been on CPAP since...

while I was in the Georgia Air National Guard I was out riding my bike and a person that was not legally drunk at that time swerved and hit me head on I was in a coma for a week and pronounced dead 5 times. do to my head injuries I was kicked out no longer mentally fit worldwide service. and here I was the only one qualified for all these positions because we had like about a dozen men retiring within a year and I was finally going to get a promotion. and sit in An E7 slot.

Bob I experienced an immediate surge of energy when I started using it...and even to this day it works very well indeed.
