When security risk and threat levels are elevated, how do you respond at home?

When security risks are elevated, and levels of security measures go up, how do YOU respond AT HOME? Or do you already take precautions on a regular basis? Are you armed? How secure do you like to keep your home and family?

I am always cautious in this day and age, and I always stay armed (both at home and away). The threats always exist, be they from terrorists, or criminals.
The bottom line is, my family is number one in my book, and I will do anything to ensure their safety and security.
That said, if we know of an increase to a specific threat, I adjust measures accordingly. I'm not saying that my preparations will eliminate the threat, but they will certainly mitigate a threat, and the bottom line is, I will not go down without a fight!

diligence goes up, especially where i am where we have had a history of assistance going towards al qaeda & the like.
