Some people seem to think it's a good idea to stomp all over the American flag... no, these people aren't from foreign nations, crazy, I know. They're Americ...
The newest American “challenge” involves flag stomping. This craze hides behind First Amendment rights. However, in Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code it clearly states otherwise. With cases like United States v. Eichman 496 US 310, a mixed message is being perceived by the populous. The notion that this behavior is acceptable is becoming more prevalent. Should Congress propose another Flag Desecration Amendment? Making it harder or more discouraging to publicize these kinds of actions of “free speech” that are now being glamorized via social media.

The video was interesting and I think I would actually fall on the side of defending these idiots rights to free speech...as long as they are willing to defend my free speech in throat punching them? It is Thursday after all?

Sir, I do not have hatred for these people or anyone else...well maybe except for ISIS/ISIL monsters...but I am tired of people not standing up to idiots and letting them continue to be an idiot without calling them what they are?
You want walk on the US Flag? Cool, BUT you understand what you are saying...they don't. You walk on the flag, you lose the protecting and defense of your rights that another paid a price in blood for you to have. Pull ALL their Federal aid money...ALL of it. Student aid, food stamps, take their driver's license, their SSN cards...don't take their passport, until they leave and then they cannot return...see how many people jump on that band wagon? You think parents are going to ignore what their children are doing then? Oh, Sergeant Sand that is not fair? The only people I am concerned about being fair to is our brothers and sisters making their final trip home under that great flag.

I think our public education system is to blame for things like this. If people were taught in school what that flag represents, and were made aware of the sacrifices that were made for that flag to enable them to have their freedoms, then people would not be disgracing it and making a game out of it.

I don't think there is any question about knowing what the 1st Amendment rights are. I'm sure SSGT Tindell is well aware of them as we all are. He was simply stating his opinion on why people are disrespecting the flag.

I am a teacher. Most schools don't say the pledge anymore. (A few do most the majority do not. (Interestingly, the school board still does at their meetings.)

Probably more of them but basically shows that no matter what law a state has put in effect for desecrating a flag, it'll be thrown out in the supreme court over 'symbolic speech'.
