Definitely getting used to the normalcy of life after being in such high stress environments. Another thing I miss is the camaraderie. The civilian world is very different and getting used to it after a military career can be challenging for some.

I am still in the guard so thankfully get to the enjoy the best of both worlds. One thing I see is that some people thrive in a highly disciplined environment, which the military provides. But when they leave, they don't have that environment and some have little motivation to be disciplined.

Having the responsibility in the military with the lifestyle may not be appealing initially, but after people leave, I see many miss it!
