There was never any guidance that said you couldn't flag Soldiers for weight, I don't know why that urban legend still continues to persist. The guidance is that right now you can't flag a Soldier for failing the APFT

The confusion/urban legend comes from the initial ALARACT that suspended unit-wide APFT and H/W checks for COVID spread prevention purposes. The same guidance stated that for promotion, board, ADOS, etc. purposes the previous passing score or H/W was valid until further notice. As commands determine normal activities can resume based on covid conditions in their area, H/W is to be reimplemented to a minimum of every 6 months as directed in regs.
However there was never guidance that said someone who failed a H/W couldn't be flagged.

Where is that guidance? I know a soldier who was flagged in May 2021 for failing an APFT.

CW3 (Join to see) the last EXORD that came out said that a Soldier who has a passing APFT may take a new one to improve their score but may not be flagged if they fail it. It came out in March I think. The COVID information is spread all over but I think you can find the complete list on S1Net. If you aren't a member of S1Net already you need to get on their mailing list.

You don't flag them. The Commander does. But yes, a Soldier can still be flagged for failing HT/WT. Unless there is literature out there that I haven't seen that states it won't count like the ACFT.

Plus, they get flagged for failing the body fat, not ht/wt. The ht/wt table is just a quick and easy way to determine who gets their body fat measured. I've seen people fail the ht/wt, but then pass the tape test (which measures their body fat).

Yep. I always fail height and weight due to my build but always pass tape.

Also just got taped last month and it was updated in my records. LTC Kevin B.

Yes. People are still doing height and weight. People are still getting flagged for failing height/weight and the failing tape. We had a couple fail last month at battle assembly and get flagged and counseled. We also had several pass including me and records were updated including mine.
