Yes I do. There are two reasons for this.
(1) At our Senior Leader TAP course it was ingrained into us to have a career plan for the duration of our life to age 100. Yes, just in case.
(2) Every interview that I've been in I'm asked "What is your 5 year plan?"

I hate the five year plan because they seem to always want specifics, which is hard to determine. I usually keep it pretty generic as I don't want to put myself in a corner or commit to one particular area.

I agree, we don't want to corner ourselves. Also, the employer may hold us to it. "you stated on your 5 year plan that you would have X completed by now"

Exit strategy, yes we must have one. I was introduced to this several times from a friend who is a business consultant. It makes sense.

Everyone should have a plan - I don't need to work but still do and there are still things I want to accomplish in education and training etc.

Yes I do. Obtain continually higher level IT certifications, which in turn will lead to better paying IT jobs/promotions.
