Brother, I been putting it off for a very long time, I got lucky though, some one in the VA offered me a way to get my teeth fixed. I live in NYC, my Doctor at the VA did something about it. I don't qualify for dental with the VA, but someone called me from the VA and offered me to go to NYU Dental to get all my teeth's fixed and the VA will pay for it. I agreed, Right now, I lost all my teeth's and will be getting new ones soon. This cost the VA over 3K dollars. I don't think this will happen to every VA medical center but it happened in my area. I will tell you , it is very difficult to eat without no teeth's. I would share more on this but my words to you is that its expensive and do take care of your teeth's.

LTC David Brown - Just buried my cousin, who'd neglected his dental work for years. He got a bacterial bloodstream infection that damaged his heart valve; the surgeon wouldn't even operate until he'd had 7 teeth pulled. That was February. Even though he had a heart valve replacement, he died of a heart attack on November 5. All because he didn't get regular dental care because it "cost too much." What's the point of saving money if you won't be alive to spend it?

I am not sure who asked this, but the answer is YES. If you're on active duty, you don't have a choice. I don't know how it works with action National Guard or Reserves. Use it regularly so it Prevents having tooth and gum issues. Also that means you need to brush those snaggles and floss regularly. it also wouldn't hurt to get a bottle of Listerine to rinse with to assist with preventing dragon breath.
I had a SFC platoon sergeant in Germany who did not go to the dentist and for the life of me couldn't figure out how he got away with it. He smoked 2 packs a day and shut down the NCO club drinking German beer all night. His had the most god awful nastiest breath. I swear it could choke a goat. His teeth were this greenish brown. His excuse was, He didn't like to smile. Seriously?!?!
