In a perfect world the best offensive strategy to defeat Isis would be a battle of annihilation utilizing massive and overwhelming fire superiority in a blitzkrieg type of shock and awe campaign. Unfortunately America doesn't currently have the will to fully commit to this. With this said, should we switch our offensive strategy to a covert and clandestine bleed and bait / divide and conquer campaign to facilitate and support the continuing strife and fighting between the radical factions of the sunni and shia thus allowing our enemies to kill our enemies. What are you thoughts?

Change? I didn't think we had an offensive strategy against ISIS. I'm not joking, I don't see anything remotely like a coordinated strategy!

I think that we should have been hammering them since last year, but that is just me....I look back to where we were when we turned things over in 2011 and the fact that we had pretty much left a more or less successful government in place that proceeded to more or less wipe out what had been gained by sacking any and all leaders from their military that were of the Sunni sect. My personal view now is that we need to destroy them, boots on the ground, wipe out the ISIS disease and call it a day. After that, not sure what to do because I have the feeling that either way no matter what we do at the end of it all, there will be some sect/group somewhere that wants to destroy us because of our infidel way of life.

SFC William Swartz Jr, agreed. The problem is that we have acquired the habit of defeating ourselves by electing defeatist administrations that throw away all of the hard-won gains after the war has been won.
