I was flagged for an investigation, with no favorable action and lost my promotable status. But I was found not guilty and had no charges against me and the flag was dropped. My new units S1 will not re en state my promotable status without paper work. Which I don’t have( I have contacted my old S1 to see if they have it but I was there over a year ago) should I go to JAG or what is my best route here

1) Do not get mad at your S1. They are doing their job - and properly, too. No S1 should EVER process ANYTHING without the paperwork to back it up.

2)Let this be a lesson. If you don't already have an I Love Me book, start one. If you DO already have one, realize you need to keep more stuff in it. No one will take care of you like you.

3) Have you talked to your 1st-line about this, yet? What guidance has (s)he given you?

4) Even going a year back, your old S1 SHOULD have the paperwork. You could also try your unit Orderly room, they should also have a copy. Or even your old S2 if clearance was suspended. Has S1 responded?

5) Give it time. Quite frankly, you are not your old S1's priority. And fixing your old S1's screw-up is not your new S1's priority. They SHOULD respond, but don't expect next day service.

6) If the old unit is blowing you off, recommend going THROUGH YOUR CoC to talk to current CSM, to see if he will give a courtesy call over to the CSM of old unit to try to "light a fire" and square you away.

Thank you for the response. Really just trying to get a grip on what to do as it just seems there’s always one more step. I’ve reached out to my S1 though they’re back in the states and responses take time. Just seeing if there was anything I could do in the mean time. Thank you again for the response!

SPC (Join to see) - Have you talked to your NCO Support Channel? Your 1SG and CSM should be knee deep in getting you back on the list.

CSM William Everroad I have gone through my Support channel. They contacted my old S1 but they don’t have any records from my board. (Left a year ago) and my J1 won’t accept an ppw that says I was eligible for promotion in January. I guess the board it is.

SPC (Join to see) - Interesting. Sometimes a CSM opts not to honor board results from another BN's board if there is no evidence that you would have been on the PPRL, but the previous CSM should have those handy (They sign the board memo, unless they were not the President of the Board).

The answer is right in the promotion regulation. Find it and take it to your s1

You're listed as a PV2 for rank. What Promoteable status are you talking about? Plus, your current S1 is correct. Awfully bold of you to want your S1 to do shady just to benefit you. Going to JAG ain't gonna do diddly for you.

Didn’t think anything shady was being done. Was just confused on the process and unsure why it would be such a trouble to get my flag re en stated if I was found with favorable action. Thanks for the response!
