Awesome story of the "might of right". There is one glaring problem I see that I haven't heard anyone bring to light here. This guy is a former marine combat instructor and a black belt in karate; why is he working as a gas station clerk? That's a rhetorical question, of course. He may love his job, he may own the store or be the store manager and there's nothing wrong with any of that. My issue is that we hear so many companies talk about being "veteran friendly" and frankly, it's only a marketing ploy to make their company sound like it cares. The reality is that too many of our Veteran's are having to take entry level jobs when so many are qualified for better positions. Personally, I've applied to most of the large government contracted companies without so much as a reply. That's after having my resume reviewed professionally and including the fact that I hold a Bachelors and Masters Degree. But, if I were just an entry level employee I would probably get the job. Employers, stop treating our servicemen and women like second rate, entry level employees and take a chance on some of the best leaders that this country has to offer! Granted, there are good and bad in every situation, from every race, creed, religion, etc. Run them through the vetting process, look at their military evals, and give them a chance to show you what they can do even if you have to pay them more than the minimum; you will be surprised by their ingenuity, ability and drive.
Awesome job, Marine....way to kick some hoodlum butt!
